Musical Pointers featuring musicians, events and recordings which are less likely to be covered by the leading paper publications; more personal and specialised than the established larger music websites, pointing to the future with emphasis on younger performers, student productions, smaller venues and recording companies, admitting a wide variety of today's musics, with a bias towards contemporary music and the exciting contemporary developments in early music, and with less emphasis on mainstream productions in the major London venues.

www.unsork.info
The Unstruck Sound Orchestra is an ongoing project based in the Scottish Borders with musical and educational aims and objectives. It is first and foremost a chamber orchestra which presents new microtonal music on new instruments, all made by hand and based on designs from around the world. It is one of the few, perhaps the only, dedicated microtonal music ensemble in the United Kingdom.

It is also an educational resource which provides access to music-making for all ages. Finally it is a source of information for music students wishing to explore the theory and practice of new microtonal music, especially composition, Just Intonation and temperaments other than 12 tone equal temperament (12-tet).

The site will be of interest to musicians of all backgrounds, to instrument builders, schoolteachers, University music departments, community workers and artists from other disciplines such as theatre, dance, puppetry and storytelling. Look out for regular updates to the instruments and links pages.
