COMA's Music Library was established with the intention of providing a reference resource of new music suitable for amateurs. The music in the Library was acquired through selection (including commissioning), donation (by amateur and professional composers, and by publishers) and recommendation (by composers and publishers).

The COMA Music Panel was formed in 1994 to lay down a number of basic criteria to ensure that the music retained in the Music Library was of a high quality and a genuinely useful and practical resource.

The Music Panel includes experienced UK-based professional composers, past tutors, and representatives from organisations with relevant aims and objectives:
