Composer Groups
Some (but not all) COMA Ensembles have COMA Composer Groups associated with them.
These operate in a number of ways, providing a mixture of structured teaching and composition projects, and commonly serving as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas. All of them provide
- a supportive environment within which to develop your musical ideas
- opportunities for members to have their works tried out and developed within the group and/or with the associated COMA Regional Ensemble
- a welcome to newcomers to composition, as well as those with previous experience
The aims of the COMA Composer Groups is to nurture the creativity of its member composers and support them in developing compositional skills - and to provide opportunities to apply these to the creation of works for performance by amateur musicians.
